For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Romans 15:4

At St John’s we love to listen to God who speaks to us through his written word. This year we’ve taken on the challenge of reading the Bible in a year. Many Christians have benefitted from this discipline. If you’ve never given it a go – why not try?

Going on the adventure together should make it both possible (as we encourage one another through the long genealogies!) and even more encouraging as we share what we’ve discovered with one another.

Many ‘Bible in a year’ plans are available. We’re going to us this one from Tabletalk magazine, which gives us one Old and New Testament reading every day, and a ‘catch-up’ day every weekend.
